Another Birthday Party for Blake

We had a little party with the cousins who aren't in school right now. We had them over to our house for lunch. Blake had fun opening his presents and having cake and ice cream. Thanks to grandma for making the cool cake. I made apple dumplings (with mountain dew) they were so good. I told my mom and sisters while they were eating them that they were low in calories--they busted out laughing and Monica almost choked, too funny. Blake had a great day!

Blake's 6th Birthday

We celebrated Blake's birthday with Grandpa and Grandma Zylstra by going out to eat at Friday's. Blake's present from Grandpa and Grandma was money that was going to be used to get a new bike! We all enjoyed our dinner, but Blake couldn't wait for all the Friday waiters to come out and sing to him--he kept looking for them.

Now off to Target to look for a new bike. He had a hard time deciding between two bikes. One of the bikes was twice the price of the other bike--so mom stepped in and started bragging about the "nicer" bike, cool colors, front brakes and pedal brakes and look even a water bottle! That did it--Blake loved it and couldn't wait to get it home and take it for a spin. Hey Blake, remember if you get thirsty you can take a drink right from your bike--cool!

Our Family

We have been down an emotional and painful path in these last couple of weeks with the losing of our baby, but have definitely felt comfort and care from our Heavenly Father. We know all things are from him and he will guide us with his word. We see that this too was in our Father's hand and to Him we must give the honor and glory. Although painful we go to Him in prayer and in His word and are comforted and given strength. Our minister came over and prayed and read from the Bible with us--one of the passages he read from was Psalm 46, I often sometimes when overwhelmed with emotions will think of one of the verses "Be still, and know that I am God:" Both of our families have been very supportive, just being there while we need to talk out some of what we are feeling. We are doing good, not of our own accord--what a mighty, merciful God we serve. Abby still likes to talk about the baby, we had a baptism sermon March 9 and Abby hears the minister talking about babies and she whispers to me "mom, our baby is in heaven".
