Our Family

We have been down an emotional and painful path in these last couple of weeks with the losing of our baby, but have definitely felt comfort and care from our Heavenly Father. We know all things are from him and he will guide us with his word. We see that this too was in our Father's hand and to Him we must give the honor and glory. Although painful we go to Him in prayer and in His word and are comforted and given strength. Our minister came over and prayed and read from the Bible with us--one of the passages he read from was Psalm 46, I often sometimes when overwhelmed with emotions will think of one of the verses "Be still, and know that I am God:" Both of our families have been very supportive, just being there while we need to talk out some of what we are feeling. We are doing good, not of our own accord--what a mighty, merciful God we serve. Abby still likes to talk about the baby, we had a baptism sermon March 9 and Abby hears the minister talking about babies and she whispers to me "mom, our baby is in heaven".

The news is out!

The Zylstra Seven will now be the Zylstra Eight! I am 16 weeks and hopefully I am over the not feeling so great part--its hard to stay on top of things when you just don't feel good and your energy level is zapped. Abby is very excited and is asking every day when the baby is coming. I told her when it is nice outside again, well the other day the sun was shining very brightly and she asked is the baby coming today? O Abby, its going to be a long time yet--even longer for her! We told the kids last week and they got to tell their friends and teachers at school--that was one way to get the news out and it sure worked!

Going Back Again--Starting with Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner by Jim and Leah. Doug and Sue and Joel and Lanae joined us from Michigan. The Bleyenburg's didn't stay too long--Uncle Doug hurt his back and he was in quite a bit of pain. The kids played a game of football--it was cold outside, the rest of us enjoyed the comforts of being in a nice warm house. We played some cards, ate, took naps, ate, watched football, ate, took care of the little ones, ate and then it was time for supper--we were all starving! We all had a great day and were ready to take on the early shopping hours the next day. We were planning on going at 4:00 a.m., by the end of the day we all agreed to meet at 9:00--we decided sleeping is way more important then shopping!
