The Bousema's and Holstege's are in Town!!!

We spent a lot of time at the pool and went shopping a couple of times with all the girls. Sue came one day with three of her kids so we had quite a big group swimming. Jocelyn got to go to two baseball games--I think she even found a boyfriend (just kidding)! I still wish I could've been with on the shopping trip to Wal-Mart--Amy thought she took two aspirin and she took two of mom's sleeping pills. She doesn't remember too much of Wal-Mart except she ran in to a magazine rack on the way in--too funny! I glad we could all spend time together this summer even with every one's busy schedules.Abby and her Cheetos!
Kenzie trying to talk herself in the pool.
One big Group!
Spencer loved the water!
Amy still competitive, going for a toothpick!
Hey Girls!
Smile--It's Summer!
Abby and Spencer
The boys with slapsticks from Aunt Audra.
Hey Jocee--you make me smile!

Beach Night at Porter Beach

I always think the beach is so pretty at dusk and every summer I say that we should do this more--we made it one time this summer. We grabbed subway on the way out and packed a cooler of pop and called it dinner on the beach. We played in the water and the sand and took a walk along the shore finding flat stones to skim across the water, the kids were pretty impressed that dad could skim so good. Maybe next summer we will find more time!

16 Years!!! August 1, 2008

Jeff and I went downtown and spent the night on Jeff's boss' sailboat. We had dinner at the Harbor Cafe and met an interesting couple that wanted to join us for dinner--why not and they took us for a sail after dinner. It was a beautiful night and we even saw Fireworks over Navy Pier. We got back to our boat about 10:00 and just sat and enjoyed the night sky and listened to the city. The boat was a little wavy at night, but we slept good and enjoyed breakfast on the boat. We did some reading and a little swimming. We had a nice little getaway!!!

Pool Pics

We love spending time at the pool. There is always someone to play with, whether it's in the pool, riding bike, playing ball or fishing. When the Olympics were on the kids saw a new game they could play--water polo--they loved playing it and it was also fun to watch and referee(we try, every once in awhile to look up from our books). Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Bleyenburg, and a special thanks to Grandma for always having it so clean and crystal clear! Tyler enjoying summer to the fullest!!
Abby thinking one is good and three is great for safety!
Blake and Olivia discussing 1st grade coming soon, NOT!
Ready, Set and Jump!
Zach finding all the arm floats he could.

Mohawks!!!

I gave the boys haircuts and they wanted to sport some mohawks, so since its summer I gave in. Grandpa Bleyenburg even liked them just said off before Sunday!

Zach's All-Star Games

Doing a little catching, which he loves!
Some Pitching, which he also loves!
Some hitting, which he likes, but loves stealing bases!
Jaedyn and Olivia being girls and doing each other's hair and the ball field?

4th of July

We went downtown for the fireworks on the 3rd, let's just say it was a very interesting event and alot of people. They were good and so pretty against the city skyline. We spent the 4th at the beach--it was a nice day and we all had fun relaxing and playing in the sand and water.
